Some believe that the fireplace is meant to be that cozy, relaxing spot where you sit, have a conversation, and entertain. When you put the tv directly above it, that move the focal point upwards. When you're watching a football game, you certainly don't look at the fireplace crackling below, do you? It is suggested that you can place the tv off to the side in a built-in or move it to another secondary wall.
The opposite side believes that the tv is the main part in entertainment. It is 2016, however. Instead of hanging art above their mantle, homeowners choose to mount their television instead. It may be mounted slightly higher than preferred, but if you tilt it downwards with newer mounting technologies, you may have no issues. This side of the debate thinks the flat screen can bring your family and friends together to enjoy the warmth and coziness of the fireplace.
So... We want to know... Which side are you on?!
