Myth #1 - Snow will slow new home construction
Busted! Yes, a blizzard will halt construction, but flurries or a light snow will not stop the workers. It seems to be easier to work through snow than it is rain. Snow also acts as a form of insulation for the bare ground.
Myth #2 - Crews don't want to work in the cold
Many crews prefer the cold over the 100 degree summer heat. You can always bundle up and wear more weather protection. The constant moving around also keeps the guys warmer. Exterior work can be completed on a new home as long as there's not a ton of ice. Interior work can be done throughout the coldest season as long as the house is weather-proofed and there is temporary heat.
Myth #3 - Homes built in the Winter cost more
There are a *few* more added expenses to a home built in the winter, one of those being concrete additives. However, this is usually offset by the increase of materials costs that usually occurs in the Spring. Our homes do not cost more in the Winter as everything is bid out the same with our all-inclusive pricing!
